With 83% of companies expecting a data breach, understanding the reasons behind them is crucial. Organizations using AI and automation had a shorter breach lifecycle, saving an average of USD 3 million more than those without. The report highlights regional insights, with the United States experiencing the highest cost of a data breach for the 12th consecutive year.
The healthcare industry continues to face significant breaches, with costs rising by 42% since 2020. Stolen or compromised credentials remain a costly attack vector, taking the longest time to identify. Ransomware attacks grew, while destructive attacks became costlier. Cloud vulnerabilities are also addressed, emphasizing the importance of incident response testing to proactively identify weaknesses and reduce breach costs.
