The OSIN for this week emphasizes observations on 5G bands by regions.
5G bands are known for offering the fastest internet speeds with higher capacity than 4G bands, requiring frequencies above 3.5 GHz. Common download and upload speeds for 5G bands are 20 GB/s and 10 GB/s, respectively. However, only a few countries have implemented 5G bands, with frequencies ranging from 700 MHz to 52.6 GHz. The #US has paid up to $9.7 billion to access higher frequency bands, leading the world in offering 5G to the mass market.
In contrast, the #LTE network is widely used globally and operates on radio frequencies ranging from 700 MHz to 2.7 GHz. Although slower than 5G, its peak rates for uploading and downloading are still considerable, at 75 MB/s and 300 MB/s, respectively.
